Bridal Show

Today is a huge bridal show event out at The Palace at Somerset Park. The Wedding Salon puts on I think four of these shows a year. Beverly Hills, Manhattan, Miami and now New Jersey. I will have a booth there so if you are one of the brides or grooms or even a family member attending please stop by my booth and say hello.

Kathryn & Adam 6-24-07

From a church in New York to a hall in New Jersey this couple was ready for fun and excitement. Kathyrn and Adam were ready to do just about anything on their day. If I asked them to walk in the fountain they probably would of. They were that excited about their photos which always makes me a happy camper. The more excited the couples are, the more excited I am. Most of my couples know that if they do what I ask of them they get to their party quicker and they then know the will pretty much not be bothered the rest of the day. The best compliment I got at the end of the night from one of the groomsmen was, "You are still here? I should of hired you for my wedding, my photographer was in my face all night long." It's great when I can just blend in and not bother anyone. Here are just some photos that I happen to grab real quick.

McNamara and Sirangelo Family

Ten years ago I walked into a store to fix a lottery machine in a hardware store. The woman that worked the machine I had known for some time. She noticed my jacket that had my photography business name on it and asked if I did weddings. She told me she had three granddaughters that were going to get married some day. One in the near future. Well one day I got a phone call and sure enough I was hired by this family to do the oldest granddaughters wedding. The other two were just so young and I was thinking wow I have a long time in between weddings with this group. The other two daughters were 13 and 16. Well today they are 22 and 25 and I can't believe how much they have grown. Once little punk kids now very pretty adults. I have photographed them over the years because this family has pretty much told everyone they ever knew about me and have gotten at least 10 weddings and many other family portraits over the years for me. So I thank them for that. Here is just a few photos of this morning.

Tiffany & Alex 6-14, 6-16

Well you might be confused by the two dates of their wedding. No confusion here. Tiffany and Alex were married on thursday afternoon on a beach in New Jersey. Just a select few of family and friends attended the ceremony. Tiffany told me a story how her and her dad would come out on these rocks and just walk around when she was a little girl. Her dad passed away about 10 years ago and she hasn't been back since. So to her this was a special place and her dad was looking down on her this day and made sure the rain stayed away. A reception took place today on saturday at another location which started out in the middle of a thunderstorm. Not a big deal, except it was an outside reception. Luckily it was under a tent.
Here are some photos of their thursday wedding ceremony.

Jessica & George's Wedding

June 9th was the wedding date. Not just for Jessica and George but for Jessica's grandparents as well. They would of been married for 70 years. They had to change the date for whatever reason and this was the date they wound up with. At first Jessica didn't even know it until her mother told her just a few months ago. I thought this was a great story. Let's move to George's interesting part of this wedding day. George's parents got married at this exact place at Fort Hamilton 30 years earlier. George told me that he grew up on this base as a kid. He told me this story as I told him to climb up on the cannon that was facing the water. He used to climb it as a kid. Now here I have him climbing on it on his wedding day. So the date and the place were special to this couple in so many ways. It was a lot of fun to photograph them. They were fun and were into their photos which is always a good thing for the bride and groom and also the photographer.

Connie & Erik's Engagement Session

Today was one of those days I just can't wait for. I love shooting in NYC because there is just so much to do and so many places to go. I tried to keep it someone simple for Connie and Erik. They didn't want to many posed shots and just wanted to have fun with their day. I felt like they were doing the show "The Amazing Race" and I was their camera man. At least I know that if I ever want to really get behind a video camera I can do these things in 90+ degree weather. I think I lost about 10 pounds today which is good. Connie loves pictures, Erik needed to be convinced but when I told him my idea for doing something different at their reception as far as table numbers go, he was all for it. I told them lets go into the city and go to a bunch of different locations and lets use them for tables instead of numbers. They thought it was a great idea. Well here are just a few photos of the day with them. I haven't really played with them much yet because it was a long day and I was tired.
